A brighter kind of
everyday refreshment.
Bright fruit flavors.
A little lift for the everyday.
Meet your new sunny side.
Fruit picked on Tuesday, in your fridge by Thursday, and nothing in between.
Meet the growersSix flavors. Pick today's.
Every bottle is 330 ml of cold-pressed fruit. Best within five days, best of all very cold.
Picked Tuesday. At your door by Thursday.
Our growers are close enough to visit before lunch. We press what they pick that same afternoon, so the juice tastes the way the fruit did that morning.
Valencia oranges from the Ruiz family grove in Ojai, 14 miles from the press.
No water, no added sugar, no concentrate. Fruit, pressed cold.
- Picked at the grove
Oranges, limes and berries come off the tree and vine into shaded crates.
- Pressed cold
Washed, cut and pressed in small batches. No heat at any step.
- Bottled at 36°F
Straight into washed glass and into the walk-in fridge overnight.
- At your door
Delivered in insulated crates. We take last week's empties back.
The weekly crate.
Six or twelve bottles of your favorites, delivered chilled on your day. We collect the empties when we bring the next crate.
- Free chilled delivery on every crate
- Swap flavors, skip or pause until Monday 6 pm
- Empties collected at your door, 50¢ back on each
Better together. Brighter by the bottle.
Bright on the inside, too.
Four things that are true of every bottle, whichever flavor you reach for.
Fruit is pressed slowly and kept below 38°F from press to door, so it tastes like the orchard, not a carton.
Fruit, and only fruit. The sweetness is the season's, so it shifts a little with every harvest.
Thick glass, washed and refilled. Leave empties at the door and get 50¢ back on each one.
Citrus from Ojai and Fillmore, berries from Oxnard. Every grower is named on our ingredients page.

It started with a crate of tangerines.
Halcy is a small press in Ventura, California, run by two people who wanted juice to taste like the fruit it came from.
A gift that went off in four days.
In January 2019 a neighbor in Ojai left a crate of Pixie tangerines on Inés Ocampo's porch. There were too many to eat, so she pressed them.
The juice was gone in an afternoon and the crate in four days. Her friend Theo Marsh, a line cook at the time, asked the obvious question: why doesn't the juice you buy taste like that? The honest answer was time. Most bottled juice is heated or pressure-treated so it can sit on a shelf for weeks.
They rented two nights a week in a commercial kitchen on the Ventura waterfront and started pressing whatever the growers they knew had too much of. The bottles went out on bikes the next morning. The ones that came back empty were washed and filled again.
Seven years later the press has its own room, the bikes are a refrigerated van, and the rule hasn't changed: we only bottle what we would drink that week, and we only press what was picked the day before.
Seven summers of pressing.
Two nights a week
A borrowed kitchen, one press and three flavors delivered by bike around midtown Ventura.
The returnable bottle
We stopped buying single-use bottles and started a 50¢ deposit. Most bottles now make the trip many times.
A room of our own
The press moved into its own space with a walk-in fridge and a door that opens to the street on weekends.
The weekly crate
Regulars asked for a standing order. The crate now goes out every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Six flavors
Golden Days joined the line-up, with ginger from the same co-op that grows our mangoes.
The people at the press.
Good things start with fruit.
Four growers, most of them a short drive from the press. Here is who grows what, and what is at its best this month.
The growers.
What's good this month.
Fruit has seasons, so our juice does too. Pick a month to see which fruit is at its peak and which bottles taste brightest.
What you won't find in the bottle.
Sweetness comes from ripe fruit. Some weeks are sweeter than others.
Every bottle is 330 ml of pressed juice. Nothing is diluted or reconstituted.
We don't pasteurize or HPP-treat, which is why the bottle keeps five days, not five weeks.
If it tastes of ginger, there was ginger in the press. Nothing is added to boost a taste.
Notes from the press.
Recipes, small rituals and the reasons behind how we do things. A new one every other Sunday.

Bringing the bottle back.
A quick rinse with cold water is all we need. Caps can go in the same bag.
Put empties by the door on delivery day, in the tote or the old crate.
We credit 50¢ per bottle to your next order. Shops take them back too.
Keeping it cold.
Bottles travel in insulated crates with frozen gel packs and stay below 38°F for at least eight hours. If you're out, the crate is fine on a shaded step until evening.
Once home, keep bottles in the fridge and drink them within five days of the date on the cap. Shake well: fruit settles, and that's a good sign.
Something arrived warm, cracked or missing? Tell us within 48 hours on the contact page and we'll replace it on your next delivery. See the full returns policy.
