A neighbourhood pharmacy on Quayside Row, since 2011
Fernwell started as one counter and two pharmacists. It is still a pharmacy first: every order, delivery and chat goes through a registered pharmacist in Port Alder.
Why we deliver
In our first winter, half the calls we took were from people too unwell to come in. So we started walking prescriptions round the corner ourselves. Today our own couriers cover five neighbourhoods, but the rule has not changed: nothing leaves the counter until a pharmacist has checked it.
We keep the range short and the advice free. If something cheaper works just as well, we will tell you. If you need a doctor rather than a product, we will tell you that too, and help you get an appointment.

Sealed, unbranded bags
Every order goes out in a tamper-evident bag with nothing on the outside that says what is inside. Prescription items need a signature.
If you are out
Non-prescription orders can be left in a safe place you choose. Prescription items come back to the pharmacy and we text you to rebook.
Returns within 30 days
Unopened, non-medicine items can be returned for a full refund. For safety, medicines cannot be resold, so we only take them back if they were faulty or sent in error.
Privacy notice
Fernwell Pharmacy (“we”) runs the pharmacy at 41 Quayside Row, Port Alder, this website and the Fernwell app. This notice explains what we do with your information. It is written for a fictional pharmacy and is here as an example layout.
What we collect
Your name, contact details and delivery address; your order history; prescriptions you send us or that your surgery sends on your behalf; notes from consultations; and, if you choose, your date of birth and allergies so we can check medicines safely.
How we use it
To dispense and deliver your medicines, to give you advice that fits your health, to send reminders you ask for and to meet our legal duties as a registered pharmacy. We do not use your health information for advertising and we never sell it.
Who can see it
Only the pharmacy team caring for you, our couriers (name, address and phone only) and the services that host our systems under contract. Your doctor may receive information when you ask us to share it or when your safety requires it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep. Write to care@fernwell.example or ask at the counter.
Terms of sale
These terms apply to orders placed with Fernwell Pharmacy online, in the app or by phone. They are an example for a fictional pharmacy.
Orders
Your order is a request to buy. A contract is formed when a pharmacist approves the order and it leaves the store. We will tell you straight away if anything cannot be supplied.
Pharmacist checks
Our pharmacists may ask questions before supplying some medicines, limit quantities, or decline a sale if it is not safe for you. When that happens you are not charged for the item.
Prices and payment
Prices include sales tax where it applies. Your card is authorised when you order and charged when the order is dispatched. Delivery is $3.90 for orders under $35 and free above that or with the Fernwell Card.
Returns
Unopened, non-medicine items can be returned within 30 days. Medicines can only be returned if they were faulty or sent in error. See delivery and returns for the full policy.
