One idea per poster
A poster has about two seconds across a street. It gets one image, one hierarchy and nothing that needs explaining.

I make posters, record sleeves and print editions for venues, festivals and independent labels. One clear idea per piece, proofed on real paper before it goes to press.
More about meEight recent posters, 2024 to 2026.
Made for the street, then cropped for the feed.
Every poster is designed at full size and proofed on paper first. Harbour Lights went up along the river a week before the market opened.

“We reprint it every month with new names and it still looks like the first one. People photograph the frame by the bar before they order.”
Ten years of turning pencil sketches into printed work, first at a print shop, then a theatre, and since 2022 from my own studio in Lisbon.
I learned print production as an artwork technician at Grafica Ribeira, preparing files for two offset lines and standing at a lot of press checks. Then I designed three seasons of posters for Teatro do Cais.
Since 2022 my independent studio has worked with venues, roasters, shelters and record labels. Most of the work ends up on a wall: the street, a bar, a shop window, someone’s kitchen.
Outside the studio I teach an evening course in screen printing, collect risograph ephemera and run slowly along the river.
Software is whatever the printer needs. The work starts in a sketchbook and usually ends on a drum, a screen or a block.

Stock, ink and finish shape the design from the first sketch, not after it.
Every schedule includes a printed proof and a day of slack before the press.

Both typefaces are open-source and self-hosted. Photography of the studio and the posters in place was made for this site. Everything you see in colour is client work.
